number of licenses required

We want to configure five sync jobs. Each job will synchronize one mailbox to another mailbox unidirectionally:

job 1: mailbox 1 ---> mailbox 2
job 2: mailbox 3 ---> mailbox 4
....
job 5: mailbox 9 ---> mailbox 10


All the jobs will share the same exchange ews connection.

My question is: how many licenses do we need?

In this case you need 9 or 10 licenses, it depends if you are using impersonation. One license is free and you need one for each mailbox. (you have 10 mailboxes)

If you use impersonation you need one license more because the impersonationuser needs one of them.

For each mailbox you can have as many Jobs you want, without the need of more licenses.
