Hi,
Is it possible to run Netlistner as a service? We have a server situated in a datacentre and it is a requirment that all applications run as a service as no user will be logged on to the server.
Thanks,
Eamon.

ok great. Can you outline how to do this?
Thanks

Re: Running OPC Netlistner as a service
There are a batch file in C:\program files\somebytes\opc netlistener\ called InstallAsService.bat. Click it and the service will be installed. Go to services and check if it is on automatic and running.
Re: Running OPC Netlistner as a service
We tried your suggestion but when we try to start the service it fails with "Could not stat the OPCNetlistner...error 1053 - The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion". We are running Server 2003. Any ideas?

Re: Running OPC Netlistner as a service
Hello,
The Service mode is tested on MS Server 2000. If you use MS Server 2003 you got new Security Features which the Service can't handle.
I will try to provide a new version, which is able to run on MSS2003. If it is not that difficult to change, i will have it ready today evening.
bye
Sven
